for reasons which temporarily escape me, i've started reviewing some of the more interesting fruit available at the supermarket. you can see the basic ratings below. click on a fruit to get some bigger pictures and a tediously long-winded account of what i think of it.
i was soliciting for good fruit ideas here, but at the moment i don't think i can be arsed to do any more.
kiwano horned melon: ten out of ten for style, but minus several million for good thinking. look, don't eat.
physalis: the dull exterior conceals a genuinely enjoyable fruit. convenient, juicy and uniquely delicious.
pitahaya: a fun, refreshing fruit. looks nice and tastes nice. not so great if you don't enjoy edible seeds. expensive.
rambutan: visually offputting, and the eating experience doesn't quite make up for that, mostly because of the texture. nice flavour, though.
